Thanks for the information. I've actually encountered this issue with 3.4, however flare code was not at 30 yet. I think the key here is that flare 30 is used in conjuction with 3.3SP1 or above to take advantage of larger replica LUNs.

From RP release Notes ...
RecoverPoint and RecoverPoint/SE 3.3 SP1 implement “fake sizing” for CLARiiON splitter environments. It is no longer required that a replica volume added to replication set be exactly the same size as the production volume it is replicating. If an exact size volume is not available, a volume that is larger than the production volume can be used as the replica volume instead.

I will comment on the solution and have EMC support update this

With the later versions of the flare code and updated RP 3.3.x this no longer is the case,

you will see a message stating the selected volume is larger than the production volume. To enable failover the extra capacity will not be used.

At this point you can continue.. or Choose a lun of a different size.

I had a template that was not setting TCP IP setting from custom script or manual process.
It appears the template had become corrupted.
I cloned another version from the master template and this worked ok.
I have also seen corruption affect inventory and the ability to edit settings for the virtual servers.
I have effected a repair by removing the template from the inventory and then re adding it backing by clicking right click *.vmtx.
Please make a note of the storage are the templates is on for instances the LUN number removeing from the inventory. Then browse to the LUN open template folder right click *.vmtx.
add to inventory. This appear to repair some link in the inventory file to allow the edit settings to work.

As always please test in a non live environment.
I accept no liability or responsibility for the above procedure used at your own risk.

I'll emphasize the "rest" point....while there is a time and place to just push through things (work really long hours, stay up late, 5 Hour Energy, etc.), it's a risky line to walk if done too often (speaking from experience right now unfortunately).

Do I have great answers there? No, I wish I did...but more just to emphasize the point...
